Have a nanny who is turning 37 next week. We've employed her since April this year, I have done all the paperwork etc. Today DP asked how old she was and said 'Are you turning 20 or 21?' When he found out she was my age, he could not believe it. She looked super embarrassed and he was just sitting there totally amazed.
He sees her 99% of the time and told me when she left our home that he has been treating her really young because he felt she was. I now feel we have left her feeling really offended telling her she acts and looks effectively like a child. Is there any way we can rectify this? She really did seem embarrassed. |
Who is DP? |
Dear pet? |
Is this the sickly nanny who dh tenderly cares for? I smell a troll.... |
Trust me on this one > your Nanny was not offended by someone telling her that she looks sixteen yrs. younger than she is.
She likely is floating around on Cloud Nine. 😇 |
Same. Compliment of a lifetime. |
Your partner should be ashamed of treating any employer like a child. And no good parents would hire a child to care for their child.
I would ask him to apologize and let it go. |
What self respecting nearly 40 Yr old would be happy about being mistaken as someone barely into adulthood? He's spent time with her so it's even more insulting if he thinks she is that young.. I would be totally embarrassed if I were her as well as paranoid. |
OP has a talking dog? |
I'm guessing "dear partner" since we're obsessed with using these silly "dear" abbreviations rather than simply using real words. |
