Are these published anywhere? How do you get a feel for where an average MC kid who doesn't do any extracurriculars will end up?

? GMU/JMU/CNU/VCU depending on how average assuming that by middle class you mean someone who can't afford 50 or 70k a year for an OOS public or private school

Average? Nova amd then maybe transfer to GMU if motivated

Yes - they typically publish “where our graduates are headed..” around graduation time, but the last couple years might have been different because of Covid. It doesn’t tell the whole picture on admissions because it’s a list of where students are going - and I knew of several students in the past who ended up not choosing the most selective of the schools they go into because of tuition costs.

NP with a current 6th grader at GW. It's only been a couple days but I'm not impressed at all. Sounds like sh*t show in there. Is ACHS the same?

Your student should have access to Naviance. From there they can get a graph from each college that shows the students who have applied to that school from ACHS (just a graph where a student is represented by an x not obviously students personal information), their GPA and SAT and whether they were accepted, waitlisted or denied.

Agree that Naviance is most helpful.
It's a large school, with many lower income families who have graduates going to NOVA to save $ then transfer to one of the 4 years. Many opting for George Mason, to save $ by living at home.
That said, for the typical UMC student, you have them attending the usual places. Yes, some to Ivys but also to other places. My 2 kids ended up at W&M and UVA. The school offers lots of AP classes and extracurricular activities, so students put together a great transcript.
