My DS (18) bought his first car from an out of state relative. We need to get it titled and registered in Virginia. I've searched the DMV site and tried calling them (they're so overwhelmed you aren't even put on hold for the next available representative) but I can't find out if we can do it all in 1 appointment or if we need two appointments. Anyone know? TIA!
Also - at one time I saw someone post about a bot that would inform you of appointments opening up at VA DMVs. Know what I'm talking about? Got the link? Thanks! |

Op, it looks like you need to get the title first, via mail, drop off, or appointment.
Here is the titling info: https://www.dmv.virginia.gov/vehicles/#titling.asp Here is the registration info: https://www.dmv.virginia.gov/vehicles/#vehiclereg.asp The car will need to have passed emissions inspection and insurance before registration will be complete. Also look at this link - appears you can do it all by mail: https://www.dmv.virginia.gov/vehicles/#title_mail.asp |

yes you can do it all on the same day in person. provided you can get an appointment
take the car, get it VA safety and emission inspected first. then do everything else by mail. or try to get an appointment to do in person. good luck.. |
