Did you become friends/friendly with the other family in your nanny share?

How common is this? We are trying to find a nanny or nanny share now and I'm wondering if this winds up being a source of "parent friends" for people. Do you socialize with your share family? Did you stay friendly after the share ended? Curious about people's experiences.

Nanny shares should be friends prior to being in a nanny share.

If you don't have a history and it's just a business deal, it's almost always disastrous.

This is actually completely opposite in my experience. If you want to keep your friends, don't do business deals with them. It's hard to always be on the same page.

We've had two nanny shares.

We are absolutely close with the first family we shared with (go on vacations together, see each other on weekends, sent our kids to the same preschool).

We are very friendly with the other family but don't see them as much, although this may change as our kids will eventually be in elementary school together.
