Fertile after miscarriage?

I have read several people say this on this board before that you are more fertile after a miscarriage. But I haven't read any scientific evidence about this. Where does this information come from?

I think it's just anecdotal information from women who get pregnant quickly after a miscarriage. I've never seen any medical information to confirm it and most docs tell you to wait a couple of cycles after a miscarriage.

An interesting note, however, one of my mom's friends underwent infertility treatment (decades ago), which included periodic d & cs to clear her uterus and allow for new growth of her uterine lining. I thought that was interesting and, of course, have no idea how common that was or whether it was due to something peculiar to her.

I just had a miscarriage, and both the doctor and my midwife told me that fertility increases after a m/c. Resolve might have data... But they also said that there's no medical reason to wait until after the next period to try to conceive, it's mostly recommended in order to help date the next pregnancy! There are other ways to date a pregnancy...

FWIW, my OB and maternal fetal medicine specialist said to wait 2 cycles to allow my uterine lining to build back up.
