I have begin biking for exercise but still very much a beginner. Sometimes I go on trails with my 8 year old.
Can anyone recommend trails in the area that a mostly flat my daughter has a hard time with hills. |
| Which area? Northern Virginia has the C and O canal and the W and OD trail that are mostly flat. |
| Anacostia Trail by RFK stadium! Lots of parking. |
Yeah, look for rail trials because they are not hilly. The trains just can’t do hills!
|
| Beach Drive on the weekend is awesome, it's closed to cars and very flat. Kensington/Bethesda. |

Where do you live? Many neighborhoods have entrances to bike trails. We live along the branches of the anacostia and you can hop onto the trails and go so many places!!

| The W OD trail saved me from the hills of NoVa |
| W&OD, Mt Vernon (until the last mile), C&O Canal are all pretty flat. Capital Crescent Trail and Beach Drive are uphill going north but not too steep. |
| Oh and the 4 Mile Run trail as well |
| My 8yo and I love Capital Crescent. We sometimes bike from our home in Dc along the trail and eat somewhere at the end in Bethesda. Or, go the other way towards Georgetown waterfront. |
