Anyone know where can I go to sign a will - a place that has a public notary, in NoVa? We are going in our first trip this weekend since our baby was born, and I would feel more comfortable signing it before the trip in case something happens to us.
Most banks have a public notary in them. Or you can try one of those small UPS stores, they often have notaries.
I'm an estate planning attorney. You will need 2 witnesses present in addition to the notary. Technically, only the witnesses are required, the notary is optional but highly recommended because it makes your will "self-proving".

Chevy Chase notarized a few things for me for free. Do you have an account with them?
Not sure about the 2 witnesses that the PP talks about. I wasn't notarizing a will. |
OP here. Thanks everyone! We did our will through Legal zoom and they sent a paper requiring the signature of 2 witnesses and a public notary - I got all done at Chevy Chase for free.
