Post-partum bladdder issues after c section

Anonymous
I am 12 weeks post partum and still exerpeincing urinary issues! I have trouble emptying bladder, have to literally push to get it all out. Its not like a UTI or anyting. Ive been to a urogyno and am getting a procedure to look into my bladder in a couple weeks. He said it might be some kind of temporary nerve issue. Did anyone experience this? Weak stream of urine (sometimes) have to push to get it all out?

Not sure I had the same thing but after my c section I didn’t feel like going to the bathroom for like a few months never got that “going to the potty now now” feeling so I had to actively think about it and then go on toilet and push the pee. Hope that makes sense haha it slowly slowly went away but yeah I felt messed up after the c section but it didn’t hurt.

Don't push. My pelvic floor PT said you can sort of wiggle your body to shake it out, as silly as that sounds. But don't bear down - you are straining already-strained pelvic floor muscles (even without vaginal birth, pregnancy can do a number on them).

12:42 here, I should add that I had this (sort of) after vaginal delivery and it resolved completely with pelvic floor PT. I did 4 months, maybe 12 sessions total, all virtual

a pelvic floor issue was ruled out for me. I was examined by a Urogyno - no issues there.

It took a looooongggg time to get back that feeling of natural peeing like almost a year after 6 months it was better but when I had sex or did a weird ab activity that feeling of not wanting to go and having to push the pee out came back.

I mentioned it to my OB and she said nerves and big big baby pushing on bladder for a long time I had a 9 pound baby through 41 weeks.

You can do tests but also give it time.
