Can Daycare workers be required to get covid vaccines?

Can MSDE require daycare operators to get vaccinated? I am vaccinated but many are not, a great many. I wonder if MSDE can require it as a condition of being licensed but does MSDE have authority? We are not employees.

I'm not a lawyer, but there is precedent.

DC is requiring all licensed health care providers to be vaccinated. So, basically, once the license is up for renewal, this requirement would apply.

In addition, the federal government has begun to require vaccines for funding, starting with nursing homes who receive Medicare and Medicaid. It is plausible the same could apply to any child care program who receives federal funding either through child care subsidies, CACFP etc.

An individual child care center owner can require staff to be vaccinated with exemptions for religious and health reasons. I actually own a child care center and that is what we are doing.
