Party favor for 12 yr olds

Anonymous
DD recently had an outdoor party last weekend and we took a risk on the favors we gave out. DD has gotten feedback from several of the girls, all good so I wanted to share.

I got these cosmetic bags: https://www.amazon.com/Sanwuta-Cosmetic-Waterproof-Organizer-Accessories/dp/B08XJJ1GJS/ref=sr_1_46?crid=8OHEOHTQ3UHW&dchild=1&keywords=travel+cosmetic+bags+for+women&qid=1628810342&refinements=p_n_target_audience_browse-bin%3A405781011%2Cp_36%3A1500-3500&rnid=386662011&s=beauty&sprefix=travel+cosmetics%2Caps%2C287&sr=1-46

Then we put in each:
-a candle from Trader Joe's
- a hand sanitizer from Bath & Body Works
- sheet mask from Origins
- avocado lip butter from Origins
- Balm Dot Com from Glossier
- three Tootsie pops

We did different flavors/scents/colors so the girls could trade with each other as they wanted. Anyway, DD's idea went over really well, so figured I would share in case anyone with a similar age girl needs ideas.

I love the bags. Small stuff to go on is cute too. I would be pissed if you gave my 12yo a candle though.

Most of that would get trashed in our house.

That’s so nice! If do it all but the candle.

My mom and I used to make favors bags for my parties and this brings back memories.

Huh? What’s wrong with a candle? Most 12 year olds know how to use one without burning house down.

NP. Because my kids are not going around lighting candles and it would never be used. They don’t light them in their rooms and we never light them in main areas of the house. The only person I know who used candles is my MIL in her 70s.

But everything else would be great!

We didn't do any party favors at that age. Come on, they're in middle school!

PP here - Maybe because I have a 12 year old SON and I don't want him lighting candles I don't know about just yet

because I don’t want her lighting a candle in her room when I don’t about about it…. Then forgetting it’s on…. Tweens are not the most focused.

No. Seems incredible, thanks. But skip the candle next time. They work well in your house, but I know many that don’t work with them (messy, inattentive, younger siblings etc), just no need to bring controversy if even one recipient isn’t allowed to use.
