One of my 3 year olds loved anything you could act out with lots of physical affection and tickles. Pete's a Pizza, Going on a Bear Hunt and Don't Laugh Joe were all favorites.
My other kid liked those, but his favorite books were things that involved trucks. I Stink, which is an alphabet book about a garbage truck was probably at the very top of that list. I think I had to replace it twice because we read it so many times. |
| Right now it’s the Frog and Toad books. |
|
Chicka Chicka Boom Boom
The Pigeon has to go to school The Very Hungry Caterpillar |
| There’s a monster at the end of this book |
| Oh, no! Is a current obsession. |
| Little Blue Truck |
| Both my kids loved anything by Mo Willems at that age. DD was also obsessed with Mix It Up. |
|
DD loves the Detective Dinosaur books. Last night she performed a dramatic reading for us of one of the stories (she can't read yet but apparently memorized the whole thing!).
Sandra Boynton books are also favorites, as are some of the Berenstain books like Old Hat, New Hat and Inside, Outside, Upside Down. 3 is such a fun age to read to! |
| Ours is five now, but three was the age where we read One Morning in Maine three times a day for weeks on end. |
