Lost MD learner's permit

My son managed to lose his permit. If you've been down this road, do you know if you have to repeat the whole process again? Online it said you must appear in person.

If the permit is lost you can apply to replace it online.

If it was stolen you need to go in person to replace it. You don't need to take the test etc.

Lost Maryland License or Permit
You must obtain a duplicate driver’s license or permit online. The license or card will be mailed to the address on record at the MVA. Please click here.

Stolen Maryland License or Permit
If your license has been stolen, you must apply in person at an MVA branch office for a duplicate license providing there are no changes to the information on your license. Please follow the instructions here. Refer to the sources of proof for examples of documentation to prove your identity when you visit the MVA branch office.

This won’t be the first time. How do you lose a laminated license? Take a photo of it and store it in your phone.

You can’t present a picture of your permit. You need the permit.

same situation here...online gives an error....has anyone just walked in to the MVA to find out?

Most things at MVA require an appointment. Walking in may not get you anything.
