What is typical format of rec leagues?

Saw one that had volunteer coaches playing a few practice games a week on either a half or full field, then a match on Saturday.
Another league was using their own staff to do the coaching, with maybe a few volunteers, everyone at one location. Matches were played by splitting a 9v9 field into 4 fields with smaller goals, then the teams were made up on the spot. |
