Acupuncture to help go into labor

Anonymous
I'm almost 37 weeks pregnant and my doctor is talking about wanting to induce at 39 weeks. I'd like to avoid, if at all possible (also trying for a VBAC so feel like avoiding an induction helps my odds of success here). Has anyone done acupuncture to go into labor naturally? If so, any providers you would recommend? (Also welcome any other tips to help go into labor). Thanks!

I did it, worked on day 3 when I was overdue, just like they said it would. I avoided an induction but baby was in a poor position so in hindsight I wish I had just gone to the chiropractor (someone who does Webster) and worked on optimal positioning because my labor ended up being very long and difficult. And in hindsight I wonder if I jump started a process when the baby wasn’t well positioned and would have been better off waiting.

Did it 6 times in two weeks. Didn't work for me, and I was overdue.

I did it at least 4 times when I was approaching my due date and slightly over... nothing. But my acupuncturist (friend of a friend) claimed he had success in the past.

I did it when I was overdue and went into labor the next day. Could've been a coincidence, but it could've helped!

Is there a reason why your doctor wants to induce at 39 weeks instead of waiting until 40?
