Preschool and Daycare Discussion
Looking for feedback on Silver Spring Learning Center and Karasik Child Care Center in Silver Spring. Will be enrolling our typically developing 3-year old in one of full-day programs in the Fall.
My son is three and goes to Karasik. They have a great program. Teachers are very caring and patient. The weekly themes are fun. I highly recommend Karasik. They don't provide lunch, though. Only morning and afternoon snacks.
My son was at Karasik a few years ago, so I can't speak to the current staff. My only criticism of them is this. An issue arose with my son relating to being adopted. I requested that the director investigate and follow up with me. She did not. My son went through a period of pretty significant distress over whatever happened at the school.
Have you already taken a tour at Karasik? We just had one and I found it kind of disorganized.

My child attends and we could not be happier. My child has so much fun and has learned so much there. I can't speak to your concern about disorganization...maybe an especially chaotic day. I will say that I've never had an administrative problem....they are on the ball. They are wrapping up summer camp for the year now and the last few weeks are full of special "end of summer" activities. Boon bounces, puppet shoes, carnival day. Maybe the children's extra "excitement" looked a bit chaotic.
It's really a very special place and I feel strongly about that. When you work full time it's nice to know that your child is in a place that truly cares about them. |
