Sick day care?

Anonymous
Is there an emergency babysitter or sick child care anyone knows about and can recommend? My partner travels for work and I'm a teacher and don't have a lot of sick days, plus they are hard to use sometimes. My almost 2 year old spiked a fever today and it got me thinking about the school year and how I'm totally unprepared for if this happens in the first few days of school. Extended family is not an option. TIA.

White House nannies at least used to offer this pre-covid. Not sure if they still do?

Pleaseget your child tested, especially since your partner travels for work.

Thanks for the suggestion. Hadn't heard of White House Nannies. And yes, of course, she has a doctor appt today. I guess I keep my fingers crossed that this doesn't happen week 1 of school.

Op, I’m a teacher too. The reality is, you need to spend some time writing up generic sub plans and let your team know where to find them. Your students will be fine. And if you run out of leave, you run out of leave and don’t get paid for that day.

Yes - teacher here as well. Thankfully - I barely used any days last year and then will get 15 more this year. With school quarantines for one and daycare sickness for my 2 year old - I will for sure have to use them. Make sure your partners uses theirs whenever they are not traveling.
