Women late 30s ( 37-39) never married & without kids when dating which man would you prefer?

Anonymous
A. Same age man never married, no kids

B. Same age man divorced, no kids

C. Same age man widowed, no kids

D. Same age man never married, with kids under 5

E. Same age man divorced, with kids under 5

F. Same age man, widowed, with kids under 5

Do you consider any of the above to have red flags?

A, B, C

I don’t date men with kids under five. I would maybe date a widower with one young kid under five though

I mean, I don't really think kids or being a widow are "red flags". No one can help if their spouse died, and having children is a pretty normal part of life.

The red flags are their behavior around them. A man who rarely sees his kids? Red flag. A man who introduces you to his kids early? Red flag. A man who expects you to take on a parenting role? Red flag.

Divorce is hit-or-miss. Some people use divorce as an opportunity to grow. Some just play the victim. Red flags around divorce are blaming the ex-wife for everything, complaining about lack of sex, name-calling, etc.

Can the demographic you described really be all that picky? Seems to me you will be sitting home alone most of the time.

Do you like kids? Want to have kids of your own? Don’t mind being a step mom or girlfriend of someone w kids some day?

I always wanted kids so if I hadn’t had my own by late 30s, I may have been open to the idea of dating/getting serious w someone who had kids. However, I probably still would’ve preferred someone without kids just bc it seems like it’d be hard to be a step parent.

Seriously. Isn’t this obvious?

My answer would be A, B, C. But a woman who was very eager/ desperate to have kids before her clock stopped might want one of the others, and a woman who couldn't have her own kids but wanted them might find D-F to be a bonus.

There's no universal answer.

I’m confused why the answer wouldn’t just be A?

He is at least 39 and he never got married? Red flag.

Oh interesting. I read it as A would be first choice, B second choice and C third. Those are the acceptable choices with A the clear winner.

Actually he is 37-39 and the woman in the scenario is also never married. Why the double standard?

Same for her. Sorry. 9 out of 10 times something is off.

C might be best one. Followed by tie for A and B.

All besides D and E.
