Nanny quarantine protocol?

Anonymous
My nanny’s husband has Covid - he was diagnosed yesterday. Clearly I didn’t have her come in today but how long should I have her quarantine before I let her come back? According to the CDC it looks like vaccinated people don’t need to quarantine but given that she and her husband are both vaccinated and Delta is so transmissible I don’t feel comfortable taking any risk with my unvaccinated kids.

What would others do here?

OP, call your pediatrician and ask. This is so new that we'd all be guessing.

Does she have the ability to truly quarantine from her husband? The problem is that even if you ask her to take a PCR test today, no guarantee that she won't get infected tomorrow.

All I can say is I’m sorry.

So over this pandemic!

Thanks, my pediatrician said there is no official guidance at the moment so to be extra safe she should not come for 14 days and be tested every 2-3 days starting at day 4/5, which were essentially the old guidelines. She said that would be the most cautious thing to do.

I just wasn’t sure if it was overkill if she is vaccinated and hasn’t tested positive like by day 7.

He was infectious before showing symptoms so you have probably already been exposed via your nanny.

14 days sounds good. Might want to get yourself and family tested a few days from now, just to be on the safe side.
