i just found out that i'm pregnant (home preg test) and im wondering when im supposed
to go in for our first OB appt?

immediately. when was ur last period? they'll ask to see u around week 6.

Depends on the doc...I went to my regular doc and got the HPT confirmed, but when I called my midwife to make the first appointment, they didn't want to see me until 12 weeks. It might be because I'm seeing a midwife, from what I've heard is that most OBs see you sooner.

Definitely call right away to make the appointment because it can take a while to get in with the OB. And if you want to do first trimester screening tests, you'll want to get on the books with them.

Mine does it at 8 weeks--just call the office, tell them you're pregnant. They'll ask you when the first day of your last period was and then schedule you according to the date and their policy. If you have questions about anything, ask to speak to a nurse or the doctor's assistant.

I think my office does 8 weeks but I agree with the PP that if your office does 12 weeks, you'll need to request earlier if you want to do CVS prenatal testing, which happens around 12 weeks and needs to be scheduled in advance and in a different office.

Definitely call now and see what your healthcare provider prefers. Mine wants the first visit between 8 and 12 weeks. This time they were so booked up that even tho I called immediately (5 weeks, if that?), the couldn't get me in until almost 12 weeks.
