Turks and Caicos early November 22: where to stay?

Anonymous
Doing some preliminary searches on an all inclusive for us and DC who will be 11. DC interested in T&K but I’m looking to see if there is a family friendly resort that anyone out there has had a good experience with. I went over 20 years ago when Club Med was pretty much the only game in town!

Any recommendations for a travel agent familiar with this area would also be welcome.

I was looking into Turks & Caicos for this summer, but it appeared their Club Med was converted to an adults only resort. So we went to Punta Cana (Dominican Republic) Club Med instead. Everything about it was fantastic.

OP here - thanks. Actually was not looking at Club Med this time; just mentioned it as a reference as I know the island has developed over the years.

Beaches (owned by Sandals) is great if expensive. Water park with slides, lots of pools, great beach. Kids clubs for different ages (my kids were younger so loved the Sesame Street stuff) but there’s also a “tween” club as well.

OP - thanks. Looked at Beaches as well as Alexandra resort. We are looking for something on the beach with enough amenities ( i.e. water sports) and dining on site. Beaches sounds great but am concerned it may be too large and “zoo”y.

Beaches is very big, but the resort itself has a big footprint so it never felt super-crowded to us (the resort is divided into three “villages,” each which have their own pool(s), restaurants, and bars (no matter where you stay you have access to the whole resort, plus the water park). That being said the two times we went were during the last week of August which is probably considered shoulder season (so while busy I don’t think they were max capacity). All water sports are included (including SCUBA).

Understood. I'll be following your thread. We loved it down in the Caribbean and want to go back again soon. Beaches sounds promising.

OP here: thanks for this first-hand review. Was looking at Beaches but concerned about cost and the general size and perceived overkill of activities. Our child is a bit more laid back, but is interested in doing a lot of the water activities offered here and perhaps at other resorts on the island.

We really liked Amanyara. Excellent service and food. Lovely location at the end of the island. While lots of couples, set up for families and kids of all ages too.

Isn't that the extremely cost prohibitive place? I know T&K in general is expensive, but that one is the extreme.

Can you elaborate? First hand experience? What did you like about it?
