ACPS and school violence

I’m the dad of elementary aged students. In the last week, I’ve heard from two ACPS parents of violent attacks on their children at the elementary level by other students. How prevalent is violence in ACPS, particularly fights? Where can I find this data on the ACPS website?

I don’t know if it breaks it down into further detail, though, the website only covers suspension data, nothing specific.

I don't know, but I can only tell you that when my kid was picked on and punched at our elementary there was no report made about it, so whatever info there is may not entirely cover it.

My son is now in middle school in ACPS. In elementary school, a boy hit him in the head at aftercare. The other boy was teasing a girl, she started to cry, my son told him to leave the girl alone, and the boy hit my son. But, this was the only incident in all of elementary, and it seems like the kind of thing that could happen as a one-off anywhere. I don't think violence is common.
