ehhhhh we watched the vda game. It pretty much could have gone SYCs direction. Those girls were tired however and took the foot off the gas to try to play defense and run the clock out. Issue was there was plenty of game left and VDA was not trying to lose.

SYC will be a problem. I would love to see a little less over top kickball and more possession but those girls are quick strong and/or tall enough to get it done.

SYC will be a problem for anyone in NOVA. Fast and physical and not afraid to foul. I also watched this game and thought SYC did a really good job rattling Vda. Both of their goals came off mistakes from stressed out Vda defenders. Everyone on this forum trashes direct play but Syc did a really good job of it and made it hard for Vda to connect.

At the end, Vda is a better team with more talent and that showed. They could’ve put the game out of reach for Syc at any point, but SYC continued to battle and clear balls off the line and from the 18.

It’s preseason and unlimited substitutions also lets teams high press the whole game with line changes.

It would be nice to see how they would have done with Arlington or Richmond United (the really serious ECNL teams in MA). VDA at this point is overhyped. That’s all folks.

Yep. No excuses for VDA unfortunately. At least Loudoun GA (lost 11-0 to Arlington) held SYC better than VDA and they lost 1-0 with an own goal.

Loudoun lost to syc. VDA beat Syc in a pretty one-sided game where SYC scored from a deflected a cross and punt where goalie stubbed her toe. How is a Loudoun loss better than a VDA win lol?
