kitchen faucets - recommendations for touch-on or touchless?

Anonymous
We are debating putting in a touch-on or touchless faucet in our kitchen under renovation. If you have had either a touch-on or touchless faucet for several years, I'd love to hear what brand you have (and model if you know), and whether or not you'd recommend it.

Thanks!

We have two houses. We have essentially the same faucet in both, but the one in the primary house is touchless and the one in the secondary house is a normal one with a faucet handle. We all forget that the second house you need to actually move the handle to get water. Once you go touchless, you get used to it. We've had it for about 2.5 years now and we love it.

And we went with Moen. Be careful of the vendor. Moen is one of the brand's that plumber's like best for a reason. It's more reliable. Be careful of some of the other brands. If I remember, Moen and Delta are preferred by plumbers.

I put in a regular kitchen faucet with Tapmaster and I love it. Wish I could install it on all our faucets. I had read there are problems with the touch less faucets breaking down and thought Tapmaster would be more reliable long term.

giving this a bump. We need to replace our faucet and are considering this. Are there more folks out there using these now?

Mine has a motion sensor. For the first couple days, I hated it. Now I love it. Mine is a Lowe’s house brand (Allen and something).

My mother-in-law had a Moen touch faucet and switched it out after a year. She said it sometimes turn on by itself!

Our Kohler sensate works well so far. You can get models that integrate with google home/alexa as well as motion sensing.

We have Brizo and I love it. I got the adaptor so I never have to change the battery. I would not get a motion sensor one (I have the touch on) because it’s too easy to turn on accidentally (eg if you have a cat).

i had a delta touch from 2018 until switching to brizo in a renovation this year. (delta and brizo are the same company).

i had planned on switching away from the battery pack, but it wasn’t offered in the model i wanted. i have to change the batteries once a year-ish.

highly recommend.

I’ve been disappointed in the touchless faucets I’ve tried. They go on when you want them to… and when you don’t. OTOH, I think touch-on faucets are great.

My mother has touchless. I find it irritating because like the PP said, they go on and off in weird ways. I often have to keep touching them to get the water to flow while washing dishes.

I really don't see the point when regular faucets are just fine. You're not saving time or being any cleaner.
