My Kindergartener will be going to ATS this fall. I have no idea where the bus stop is and what time we are supposed to be there. Any idea when I will get this information? Thank you. |
Go to parentvue. The hub stops will be there. Expect the actual time the week before school |
Week before school starts. You get their teacher around the same time. |
Hopefully by the Friday before school begins. ![]() |
A week before school starts |
The option schools are moving to Hub Bus Stops, which are very different than in previous years. We are at an option school and we've already gotten our map of stops.
https://www.apsva.us/transportation-services/bus-transportation-option-school-transportation-frequently-asked-questions/ Though if you don't have a ParentVue account, that's tricky. Does ATS have a PTA page? I'd ask someone there to send you the PDF. |
Also the Hub Stops are made to push some of the onus of transportation onto the choice school parents to ease costs. We have to cross George Mason to get to our school, but we have to walk a mile in the wrong direction to get to our Hub stop. It's faster to walk to school, but I can't ever let my kids cross GM alone, but they also won't put in a crossing guard since we aren't walkers. It's frustrating. Our whole neighborhood would let kids walk IF there was a guard. |
Also expect the bus schedules the first week of school to be terribly off schedule. Esp. the busses coming home are often quite late the entire first week of school. It may be even worse than usual this year. |
