| I have to go to a wedding in NY this weekend..Sunday afternoon/evening. Have the same old black dress I've worn to every wedding I've gone to for years. Don't have time to shop for another one but wondering if I might have time to pick up some shoes that are not black to add some color. Not sure if that will work if it's really 50 degrees and raining this weekend there which means that I won't be able to wear bare legs. So black tinted stocking with black shoes or should i get another color shoe...not sure if I can wear a different color in the evening. |
| a bronze / copper sandal of sorts would be pretty, but would require a bare leg...same for pewter.... |
| Black shoes with black hose are the safest - and classiest - bet. |
| Yes, you can wear a different color shoe, but not with black tinted stockings. Go for red shoes! |
| i think a shoe in a bright color with black stocking would look great. |
| A dark red t-strap with opaque black hose would be great. I also love dark green--but this is hard to find. |
No, this does not look good - ever - with stockings. Only works with opaque tights and that only works with a certain style dress....not cocktail. |

Agree with pp. I'm also not a fan of a black dress for a wedding. I'd go with something more festive or even a navy. Black is a universal color of mourning and should generally be avoided at weddings along with any shade that is close to white.
Black with polka dots would be OK, but solid black, unless it is for a formal evening wedding, would not. |
