Pho in Bethesda/Chevy Chase or upper NW

Anonymous
Does anyone know of anywhere to get pho in Bethesda, Chevy Chase, or upper NW? The closest places I can think of are Nam Viet in Cleveland Park and Pho 75 in Rockville, and those are both a significant drive for us. Thanks!

I think there is a pho place on Bethesda Ave, one block in from Wisconsin. I know of an excelent Ramen noodle place in Bethesda. It's not the same as Pho but it's really good. They only have like 3 soups on the menu and various add-ins for the soup and they have dumplings. It's in that little shopping center where the CVS is on the corner of Arlington and Bradley.

I know you asked about Pho in Upper NW, but I know of no really good ones. Nam Viet doesn't compare to a relatively new place just east of the park in Columbia Heights which is wonderful! It's between 14th and 15th on Park Road, right near the new Pollo Sabroso. We love love love the Pho there, the service is good and it's a lovely little place. ( I think it's called Huang Pho, I'm not sure though )There's also a newer Pho place up 14th street about 1/2 mile north of Park Rd. Don't know the name but have been dying to try it. I did step inside the place though and it's casual and cozy and looks like the real deal. It's on the east side of 14th Street near Oak and Otis Sts.

are you sure it is still open? I tried to go there a month ago and it said it had closed.

There's a pho place in Dupont Circle on P Street heading to Georgetown. It's not the best but it's pretty good.

Your best bet is Pho 75 on Wilson Blvd in Rossyln. Only a 15 minute ride from AU Park/Palisades and so much better than the places you described (and closer than Rockville).

OP here. Thanks, everyone. We love Pho 75 in Arlington and often go there on the weekends, just too much of a hike for take out. Rice Paddies in Bethesda sounds like it might be a winner. Looking forward to some pho on this nasty rainy day. Thanks again.

It's still open. But I think that the Japanese grocery that it's attached to might have closed in the last couple of weeks. You might have gone on a Monday. They are closed Mondays.

And OP, I think Rice Paddies is what I was talking about on Bethesda Ave. Today is the perfect day for Pho... might see you there!

I recently heard that Pho place at 14th and Park Rd. was really good and can't wait for a leisurely mealtime to try it.

I'm the one who previously posted about this place and the one on 14th and Otis. Well, actually tried the new one on Otis yesterday...it's called "Pho Viet" and there's no comparison. Really, Huang Pho on 14th St is still the best. Very authentic, great menu and delicious.
