Any Movement on PGCPS TAG Lottery for Middle School?

Anonymous
We were waitlisted (under #10) a week or so ago for TAG at Greenbelt Middle. Anyone know when we should see movement on the TAG waitlist? Any idea on if a kid with a number 10 and under will most likely get in? We are new to this process- so any advice from anyone BTDT would be helpful.

In previous years, all TAG middle schools slots at Greenbelt were filled by Elementary students with continuity or by inbounds kids.
Not sure if that is still the case.

FYI- they opened up the lottery for most TAG elementary programs and Kenmoor and Walker Mill Middle School programs. If you live outside the school boundary you might be able to get an exception to go to Kenmoor if you didn't get a slot at GMS. You would be required to provide your own transportation.

"Applicants must be currently TAG-identified or going through the identification process, and live within the school boundary:
Accokeek Academy (Grades 2, 6 and 8)
Capitol Heights Elementary (Grades 2-4)
Glenarden Woods Elementary (Grades 2-3)
Heather Hills Elementary (Grades 2-5)
Longfields Elementary (Grades 2-5)
Mattaponi Elementary (Grades 2-5)
Valley View Elementary (Grades 2-4)
Kenmoor Middle School (Grades 6-8)
Walker Mill Middle School (Grades 6-8)"

My dashboard now says "Seat Expired" for the TAG Lottery.

Send an email to the TAG coordinator at Greenbelt and tell them you are interested if any slots open up at the last minute.

Also, email/call the TAG coordinator at Kenmoor and see if they have slots open. She is very responsive. You would have to provide your own transportation but they might be able to get you in. Depending on where you live, you might be able to sneak on one of the buses for the Autism or Transition students. Kenmoor TAG is a fantastic program.

Thank you! I've heard really good things about Kenmoor.
