| If you have a small crack or chip, you can have it fixed for $100 or less. I wish I had known that. I’m know looking at $1700 to replace my heavily cracked windshield. |
Not only does GEICO do this for free, they even send someone to your house to fix it. |
Why don’t you put it through insurance? Most people don’t need to pay out of pocket for an OEM windshield unless you have a really nice car. |
So does Travelers. |

Not only can you have a crack or chip repaired, you can do it yourself. I did my own repair two years ago and it's been fine. It doesn't look as good as someone that has done it a thousand times but it still looks almost invisible. I have a hard time finding where it was even when looking for it and knowing the general area it's at.

| Yeah, boo. “Safelite repair, Safelight replace.” Anything smaller than a $1 bill they fix for free. It takes 20 minutes. |
They don't fix it for free. They "waive" the deductible which is most likely not allowed but sure... |
And Erie. Plus you may have insurance to cover the replacement. |
| I am genuinely confused by this post. I thought everyone knew this. |
| what kind of car has 1700 windshield? |
+1 |
We've used this too and it works really well! |
|
USAA also does this.
And to those who said doesn’t everyone know this? I assume my teen drivers don’t. Why would they? You’d only know if it happened to you. |
|
The crack will still be there I was told. The fix is only to not make the crack spread.
In the end we paid the $200 insurance deductible. |
| Using after market or factory glass? |
