Seven Locks Elementary -- good location?

We're looking at a house in the 20817 zip code, and our local school would be Seven Locks. We are from out-of-state and are trying to figure out whether this is a convenient location for commutes to downtown DC, etc. (The house is on Honeybee Lane, near Green Twig Road, if that means anything to you ...) I'm told it's about a minute or two away from the River Road exit for I-495, though I have no idea what that means yet!

Any input? And is Seven Locks an excellent school?

We live in that area and LOVE it. It is private, yet close to everything - downtown DC, downtown Bethesda, and Rockville. We also LOVE Seven Locks ES - it is a lovely school! Good luck!

I live about two blocks from the location you're describing. It's super-convenient to DC and downtown Bethesda as well as the Beltway (I-495). Seven Locks is a great school; small by MCPS standards. The only drawback is that there's no close shopping - nearest supermarket is about 3 miles.
