Who is he and why don’t people vote for him? I read his wiki page and I like him.

FYI I’m from DC so I can’t vote for or against him.

He's been around forever. Founded Guardian Angels in the 70s. Nowadays seen as a self-promoting wack job by many. To the right in a city that predominantly leans left. That said, I took an online "Mayoral Match" poll and I matched with him, although I'm a registered Dem! Will be voting Adams in November.

All of this except to add that the Guardian Angels always had the whiff of authoritarian fever even back in their "neighborhood watch/vigilante" times back in the day.

I guess you never rode the subway at night through NYC in the early 80s. It was comforting to see them on the platform or get into a train car. At least you knew someone would have your back.

This exactly. Curtis Sliwa was my hero back then - and today. He has a lifetime of dedication to NYC. He even got shot by the mob, but never gave up. No one will fight for NY like he will. He's got the history to prove it.
