Hysteroscopy & FET same cycle?

Anonymous
Anyone done both in one cycle? My googling looks like it could be done, but not sure if I should push for it. Ultrasound yesterday revealed a polyp which throws out this cycle. My RE said I could do ERA the same cycle as a hysteroscopy, but I am on the fence about doing that anyway as my cycle can be wonky depending on which side I ovulate from and I feel like the results aren’t going to be super helpful with a natural cycle FET. We’ve already delayed this transfer over a year due to COVID and I am just ready to move forward either way.

It depends on why you’re having the hysteroscopy done. Typically a hysteroscopy is done before the IVF process begins. Since you’ve already gone through that, I’d probe why your doctor wants to do one now, unless there is a specific known reason like you have fibroids or suspected polyps to be removed.

The actual recovery from the process is not terrible, but if your doctor removes anything, like a polyp, during it then you’ll likely have to wait at least one full cycle after you get your period following the hysteroscopy before doing a transfer.

I had a tiny polyp that they actually just nicked off with the scope during the hysteroscopy. I then continued with my FET as normal. It was so minor in my case, that it was almost like an endometrial scratch. Also, resulting DD is 3 and 1/2 years old now.

i posted in the other polyp thread. I had one removed on may 13th, FET may 29th, currently 9 weeks along fingers crossed.
