Best storage rack for a minivan

Friend said getting a storage rack that goes on the back in the hitch is way better than the roof top carriers. Agree or disagree? Just needing extra space for luggage. Any specific recommendations?

Have fun opening the back with a loaded storage rack. Also backing up and sticking out of parking slots.

Love our giant Thule box that has lasted us over a decade (and it was used when we got it).
