Kids and sick long distance partner

Anonymous
Has anyone ever been in or know of in a situation where a long-distance partner is seriously ill and you/they had to balance caretaking in another state from where your kids are?

You need to move the partner to live with you. Or, let kids go stay with Dad.

Bumping this up for you.

I only knew one woman who did this, except it wasn’t a partner, it was a family member. For years she flew out to care for him and it completely wore her out. Not worth it IMO.

Is this a romantic partner? Do they have someone else to care for them? I can’t imagine leaving my kids to care for a boyfriend/girlfriend, especially a long-distance one. I wouldn’t do it.

The kids should always be your primary focus. Partner needs to either come to you or you wait until he/she is better.

Do not put your partner ahead of your kids.
