| Has anyone ever been in or know of in a situation where a long-distance partner is seriously ill and you/they had to balance caretaking in another state from where your kids are? |
| You need to move the partner to live with you. Or, let kids go stay with Dad. |
| Bumping this up for you. |

I only knew one woman who did this, except it wasn’t a partner, it was a family member. For years she flew out to care for him and it completely wore her out. Not worth it IMO.
Is this a romantic partner? Do they have someone else to care for them? I can’t imagine leaving my kids to care for a boyfriend/girlfriend, especially a long-distance one. I wouldn’t do it. |

The kids should always be your primary focus. Partner needs to either come to you or you wait until he/she is better.
Do not put your partner ahead of your kids. |
