Lots of follicles, much less mature eggs

| I'm 38, and during stims I had a lot of follicles, ranging between 18-30 during the ultrasounds. My doctor retrieved 17 but only 10 were mature. Is this common for women my age? Thanks so much. I just feel rather disappointed, but I am grateful for the 10. |

| 10 is actually great at any age, but especially at 38. I never had more than 3 starting at 31. All it takes is 1! |

| This happened to me too. My RE had no explanation other than possibly mimd PCOS. Could also be the syncing before you started stims…the follicles are all just at different stages when they are retrieved. Ten is really great. I hope all goes well making them to embryos! |

Similar numbers, except I am 40. We retrieved 29, 14 were mature, 8 fertilized.
This was our second round. For our first, we got 27 eggs, 10 mature, 4 fertilized but only 1 made it to blast, tested abnormal. |
