Elementary schools that excel at inclusion of special needs

Anonymous
I have a child with high functioning autism and am trying to determine which Arlington or Fairfax elementary schools excel at including children with special needs. Does anyone have any insight here? We are considering where to move and are open to anything in reasonable commuting (driving) distance to DC.

Thank you.

I have a child with Down syndrome and have asked a similar question--we live in Alexandria right now and won't be staying. What I hear is that people are generally happy with inclusion in Arlington overall. Fairfax is more mixed and attitudes on the issue change frequenty as teachers and principals move around.

Thanks for posting this question. I was also wondering the exact same thing.
