Who can I hire to advise on interior and exterior colors?

| I need help with a color scheme for both the inside and outside of my house. There are rooms where wallpaper or decorative wall trim may be better, and there are some unusual siding details outside, so it's a bit of design and not just spinning a color wheel. But, I'm not interested in buying furniture. What kind of professional should I look for? I am in Fairfax if anyone has recommendations. |

We used Christine from Home at Last, here's the link to her Houzz page.
https://www.houzz.com/pro/homeatlastdecor/home-at-last-decor For a flat $170 fee, she came to our house in LoCo and did a walk-through with us for a paint plan for the entire house (interior only, we did exterior last year without a consultant). We only did about half the work this year, but now we have a cohesive color plan from top to bottom, rather than trying to figure things out piecemeal/room by room. She recommended a painter as well, whom we were very happy with. I don't think the projects in her Houzz portfolio are particularly eye-catching, but I think that's more a reflection of demand -- a lot of people wanting a greige and her finding them one they like -- rather than her actually being stuck in particular palettes. We ended up with a mix of BM and SW colors, and everything looks SO good. She listened to our preferences and made recommendations accordingly, along with some things that I would not have tried myself but which I really liked when she suggested them. Since she was seeing things in-person, she could make suggestions based on the lighting in each room. We have wanted to repaint for several years, but we'd only done a couple of rooms because I wanted a plan where everything hung together well. We got that, now it's like having an entirely new and much improved house. Absolutely worth the money and frankly, a deal. |

Hi! I am looking for an interior house color consultant but see that their is quite a mark up for this area--the hourly rates are 150 vs the PP. Anyone can rec a good color consultant that may be just starting and has a better rate?
