What is Big Deal with TJ decision?

I ask as my old state had one and we always only allowed in a few from every class and every school. We also brought in kids who scored high in attribute tests with maybe lower GPAs or people with special talents.

It is a public school. Should all races, religions, economic backgrounds get a chance to excel.

In theory the smart ones in good schools already need it the least

it's two things. first, the car decal. second, a better chance at uva admission.
