Does this price sound about right?

Looking to put my to-be 2 year old in daycare this fall. I have zero idea what normal daycare costs are like. I did find one that I like (not a chain daycare, but a Jewish school) and it would be 3 half days (four hours) a week for about $140/week, or 5 half days for $200/week. Does this sound about right?

What is everyone's experience with chain daycares? I'm not completely against them, and I'm not gung-ho on a specific method like Montessori, but what concerns me most about chain daycares is that they seem to have extremely high turnover and they don't seem to treat employees well.

No, that’s expensive for 1/2 days.

Daycare in general has a high turnover rate. The teachers don’t get paid a lot. Price depends on where you are. I paid for part time daycare (up to 24 hours) and paid $275/week. Not cheap but around the same price as most in my area.

We paid $370 a month for 3 half days a week (4 hrs/day) at a preschool associated with a church. We thought that was cheap though, my guess is the preschool was financially subsidized by the church, but I don't know. The teachers were seasoned and had been teaching for years at the same preschool (which follows a typical school calendar and is closed in the summers)

I have no experience with daycares, my impression is that it has higher staff turnover, maybe from teachers being burnt out and low wages, but I can't speak from experience.

My son was at an all-day program at a Jewish preschool pre-Covid. The program was from 8:00-6:00 and we paid 26K for the year. (We actually got some money refunded due to Covid) You can extrapolate from there. I don't think 140 per week sounds unreasonable to me.
