Infertility Support and Discussion

We're TTC but not being too diligent about charting, etc - planning to start being more diligent if this month didn't work out (only been trying a couple of months). So I'm not sure about my cycle, but last month it was exactly 28 days (been off the pill for about 6 months). I tend to spot some around ovulation and then have a light period (maybe a day or two of using pad).
This month, about 10 days after I think I ovulated (guessing just based on CM) I started spotting bright red blood, on TP when I wiped and a little on a panty liner (not enough for a pad). That went on for 6 days, and I thought based on 28 day cycle AF was due on Friday (3/19). And that's when the spotting stopped, WITH NO AF IN SIGHT. Took HPT today and got BFN. Should I just wait and see what happens, or should I see if I can get to the dr for a blood test (which would be really hard to schedule with my work this week)? Anyone else experience BFN even though they were in fact pregnant? For how long? If I'm not pregnant, I'd like to know so that I can start figuring out when to try again (thinking of trying the ovulator prediction kits, but don't want to spend the $$ if I'm pregnant already...), not to mention I'd love a giant cup of coffee and a beer! |
| most likely, you are NOT pregnant. you will probably get your period next week. our bodies just act weird sometimes, like it somehow knows we're trying to get pregnant and decides to mess with us. |

Wait another few days and then do another HPT (3/24). If negative and still no AF, try again on Friday (3/26).
If same result (neg and no AF), buy a 7 day supply of OPK at CVS on Friday and start peeing on the sticks once a morning to see if you can catch the next ovulation. It costs about $20, I think. If you're still feeling concerned about the ambiguity next week, drop in to the OB/GYN for a blood test once work clears up. Good luck!! |
