I just had a car wash and they wax the interior of the car. The car mats and pedals are so slippery. Anything I can do to make it not so slippery? |
You could spray some non-chlorinated brake cleaner (auto parts store) on a rag and wipe off the surfaces of the pedals, and the floor mats.
Brake cleaner is a really aggressive degreaser chemical. It will immediately dissolve and allow to remove (by wiping) any kind of oil/grease/wax. It’s nasty stuff, so don’t spray it on anything that you do t want all the oil or wax removed from. If that’s not an option you’re comfortable with, you can also try rubbing the pedals with a rag dampened with acetone, which will do the same thing, but less aggressively. I would be hella pissed if a detailer put something on my pedals that made them slippery. They’d definitely hear from me about that. |
They put armor all or some other silicone (usually) based product on things to make them shine. PP is right about the solution, though. |
Mine does this too, I hate it. |
Geez.
Come on guys. Just use some isopropyl alcohol diluted to about 15% concentration. |
