How to make car pedals not slippery?

Anonymous
I just had a car wash and they wax the interior of the car. The car mats and pedals are so slippery. Anything I can do to make it not so slippery?

You could spray some non-chlorinated brake cleaner (auto parts store) on a rag and wipe off the surfaces of the pedals, and the floor mats.

Brake cleaner is a really aggressive degreaser chemical. It will immediately dissolve and allow to remove (by wiping) any kind of oil/grease/wax.

It’s nasty stuff, so don’t spray it on anything that you do t want all the oil or wax removed from.

If that’s not an option you’re comfortable with, you can also try rubbing the pedals with a rag dampened with acetone, which will do the same thing, but less aggressively.

I would be hella pissed if a detailer put something on my pedals that made them slippery. They’d definitely hear from me about that.

They put armor all or some other silicone (usually) based product on things to make them shine. PP is right about the solution, though.

Geez.

Come on guys.

Just use some isopropyl alcohol diluted to about 15% concentration.
