No movement can entirely control its rank and file. But this is too much. If the civil rights movement could convince people to show up in their church clothes, march politely, and then take a physical beating without fighting back, I think the least the Tea Party could do is to get people to not shout the N-word or the F word out loud and in public. It's disgraceful, and it says a lot about the character of the movement. |
Turn on CSPAN if you haven't already. The Republicans are ranting about communism and socialism (funny thing to say about a program that requires the purchase of insurance from private corporations). Oh, now Geoff Davids (R-Kentucky) just called it tyranny. There is literally no difference between House Republicans and Tea Baggers.
