| Anyone every lived there with kids? |

My family is Greek and I have many relatives that live in Athens. My brother just moved there for work and lives there (until he can find an apt. of his own) with my cousin, his wife and their 2 kids ages 10 and 7. They live in a great part of town and in a fancy house and my little cousins go to the American schools there. From what I can tell they like it a lot. I want to say the neighborhood is called Kifisia (?????) or something like that.
My other cousins also live in Athens in a neighborhood where all the political figures live. Their home is gorgeous and they live a really good life. They also went to the American Schools and college in the states. (These are all relatives from my mom's side) My dad's family also lives in Athens and they live a much different life. It's not nearly as glamorous. Those cousins went to the public schools and from what I can remember, it was pretty rough. Their neighborhood is also much more working class and not as safe. I haven't been there in a long time. I will email my brother to see if he give me some more scoop... |
| op here, thanks, would love to know what he thinks about the american community school. |

It is similar to living in any big city. Some parts are nicer than others. Not a whole lot of outdoor play areas, but the city itself has lots to do and it is close to beaches and mountains. I LOVE Athens and would move there in a heartbeat if I could convince my husband!
