Please recommend cute swimsuit for 14 yo DD no bikini

Anonymous
She is looking for something cute for the summer beach trips
Is there any cute one piece or other style that provides more coverage than bikinis
She is in good shape But too self conscious for bikini which seems to be popular among her friends
Any suggestions? Preferably something inexpensive, she won’t be wearing it much
She wears her racing suit for her regular swim practices

My DD is size of a 14 year old. At age 9. We found a really nice womens size tankini, with shelf bra but no weird cups at Body Double Swimwear at beach. The brand is Robin Piccone. I'd say sizes run half size bigger than normal. So if unsure, size down. It was expensive, not going to lie. $240. But, only swimsuit we could find that's tankini but not awkward.

We bought Robin Piccone Racerback Tank. You could just buy $139 tank and match with cheap bottoms.

OP here, she is 5’7” with small boob and wears womens S/XS with some padding /shelf bra

My DD is too self conscious for a one piece (and doesn't like how they feel), so we got her swim shorts + crop tank + swim shirt from athleta. Depending on her size, they have women's swim with a "conscious" top that is a shorter tankini. In between bikini and a full cover tank.

You spent $240 on a swimsuit for a 14 year old??

I hope she has a generous trust fund she has early access to at 18. You are setting a high bar.

Arie has a lot of cute suits. Also try Cupshe. A friend gets her daughter's suits from there and recommends it.

Thank you for not allowing her to wear bikinis. In, bikinis are really no different than walking around in underwear. We have serialized girls way too much. Just get her a one-piece. The other day I was at a pizza restaurant and the hostess was wearing a jean skirt so short she would not be able to bend over without exposing herself.

Do you have a problem with men walking around "in underwear" at the beach too?

J Crew Factory for one-piece suits and Old Navy for rash guard tops

I've been eyeing these one-pieces. I'm not quite ready for a full-on frumpy one-piece.

The cute swimsuits for 14 year olds are bikinis. That is what they wear. Other option is Jolyn one piece.
