Montgomery County Aquatic Centers Closed June 18

Email says that due to new federal holiday aquatic centers, rec centers, senior centers will be closed. I don’t remember aquatic facilities closing for Memorial Day, July 4th, or Labor Day. I don’t pay attention to the rec centers or senior centers so maybe they close for federal holidays. Have the pools always been closed for the 3 major summer federal holidays?

I'm a county employee. Marc Elrich told everyone they have the day off. He did it just hours before the holiday became a real holiday. He created all kinds of chaos across county government, and probably some pay issues (like union employees who work 24/7 types of jobs and get pay differentials for working holidays. But that's his way. He never plans anything out.

Guess you don't work for the county. I voted for him. But I will never again vote for someone who has never actually managed anything before. Do you really think a bunch of lifelong 2nd floor policy wonks have any clue how to manage 10,000 employees?
