Hi DCUM! My sister's beloved 2013 Sorrento was recently totaled. She is fine (thank goodness) but is understandably shook up and overwhelmed with the next steps.
She really likes Kia, having owned a Sportage and 2 Sorrentos. Now that she needs a new car she is immediately drawn to just get the latest model Sorrento but wants to explore options without spending a lot of time/brainpower on the decision. She's in a rental Rav4 and likes all the bells and whistles (her words - remember she's upgrading from a base model 2013) but does not like how "light" it feels. Her requirements: SUV cargo space rather than 3rd row all the safety features long lasting, high mileage warranty budget-friendly She drives A LOT and i'm concerned with her (1) safety (2) comfort (distant 3) style. I'm going to do a little online research and welcome your input. Obviously the decision is hers, I'd just like to give her 2-3 sound options. |
| I'm just going to throw it out there - we bought a sorrento 4 years ago and we still love it. It's really been a great car. It does have the third row, but we most often have the seats down and use the cargo space, but when we need it, having the third row is key. Better yet, it's aa slept third row so we often only need 1 person in the third row and we use the other half for cargo space. |

DH has a Hyundai Santa Fe that we LOVE. Worth looking at that for sure.
I drove the Palisade recently and liked that, too. (Kia has the Telluride.) The Palisade probably bigger than her Sorrento and has a third row. |
| I love what they did with the new Sorento! |
| Thanks everyone. After much hand wringing and great consternation... my sister is getting a 2021 Sorrento! Now waiting on delivery. |
