Sounds like a reasonable question. Labor Day weekend is a few months away and OP wants to know whether she can make other Labor Day plans.

What I've figured out about youth soccer is that if you plan a vacation then there will be a tournament on those dates. If you don't, then there won't be.

Yes all travel teams will play a tournament that weekend and no I’m not trolling.

It was sarcasim. Op will learn that you are the mercy of the tournament gods when signing up for travel soccer.

I regret it already. I guess it doesn’t matter that we spent over $3k for travel soccer since we can’t vacation for a whole year…

They mentioned briefly on the zoom call that there were no Labor Day tournaments for this age group but you might want to double check with Mo before you book a big trip.

For ASA, labor Day tournaments typically don't start until the 2nd year (U10). But there is almost always some sort of internal scrimmage (e.g., Red vs. White or Blue vs. Black) that weekend (often on Monday) to give the kids a chance to play 7v7 on a bigger field for the first time before the season starts.

This. They said pretty much exactly this on the 2013 call last week.

You don’t HAVE to go to the tournament. I mean you could go on your vacation instead

Thanks. The call kept dropping, it was hard to stay focused.
