LOL, do tournaments really need a "seventh place game"? |
When teams are traveling hours and staying at a hotel for a tournament, I think providing at least three games makes sense. How they did it makes the third game they play the most competitive possible (7th vs 8th, 5th vs 6th, 3rd vs 4th, and 1st vs 2nd). Not sure what your issue is. |
I don't have an issue with that, but we used to call it a "consolation" game. I guess the seventh place team can at least say they weren't the worst team there. |
There is probably a lot more than one, and fewer than one that the poster can spot. |
| RSD, isn't there a Vienna RL team going to the ECNL Open Cup coming up here in a couple of weeks? Playing against regular ECNL clubs. |
Vienna lost the first game and won the next two. The site was updated incorrectly. |
13 seed, ECNL Open Cup https://public.totalglobalsports.com/public/event/2040/conference-standings/9 |
| ugh, use the selectors to get to U17 Open Cup |
You have to select U17 and also select Open Cup from the two drop down menus. |
| Do you have a rundown of all the clubs that will be in ECNL-R for next season, including their team placement (example: Arlington, 2nd team). |
|
Arlington - B team
Beach FC - A team Fredericksburg - A team Great Falls/Reston - A team Loudoun - B team Price William Courage - A team Richmond Kickers - A team Richmond Strikers - A team SOCA - B team Stafford - A team Tidewater Sharks - A team Virginia Legacy - A team VSA - A team VYS - A team |
Beach FC A team!! I must have missed that. CCL just took a huge hit. |
|
Beach FC is by far the best girls club. I won't miss the drive, but 2009s 1st place (State Cup semi-finalist), 2008s 1st place, 2007s 1st place (State Cup champs), 2006s 4th place (State Cup finalist), 2005s 3rd place (State Cup champion), 2004s 3rd place (State Cup semi-finalist), 2002s/2003s 1st place gave some legitimacy to the league.
CCL Showcase events will see a drop-off in college coach attendance on the girls side. |
Not necessarily true (bold teams). VDA team is considered the top team within this structure (ECNL National). Remember, VDA's original concept was a merger of top vsa/pwci players, with others in the surrounding area joining. They both practice/play home games at both vsa/pwci fields. So essentially they would be considered b teams. |
| Arlington, Loudoun, VSA, PWSI and Richmond's top teams until U-13 ECNL starts. For older age groups (U-13 and above) it will be 2nd teams as top teams will be in regular ECNL on their own or combined (i.e., VDA or Richmond United) |
