For 2 kids and 2 adults thanks!
We got ours at costco a few years back- we liked the arabesque pattern (matched our pool tile) and they are huge and absorbent. Not sure what their patterns are this year. They were kirkland brand.
No, it doesn't really matter. They're all good enough. I was more concerned with getting a different color for each kid since we color-code them so there's no fighting over who gets what. Each kid just knows their colors.
I swear by Egyptian towels - just lighter and still absorbent. I get large ones and it's so much easier to carry.
I got some great/thick designer beach/pool towels at TJ Maxx
I love Kassatex brand towels. We are going on 5 years with the same beach towels by them.
My personal favorite is a thick soft Frozen towel. It’s old now and my kids are well past the Frozen stage. I use it because it’s so comfortable.

OP, I am copying and pasting a comment I left on someone else's thread recently about finding a nice pool/beach bag where I mentioned my favorite towels. Switching to microfiber towels is so great - 4 of them take up less space in my beach/pool bag than 1 regular towel and they are so light and dry super fast. Turkish towels are nice too with the same qualities, but I prefer the microfiber towels:
******** I like the Sea Bags, and am eyeing a pouch from them. I have this bag, which I LOVE - lots of pockets, very well made, and mesh, so doesn't collect sand. Unfortunately it is not in stock on Amazon anymore, but maybe available elsewhere? I have a waterproof pouch that I clip to it for my essentials. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00E7W5ZDO/ref=p...earch_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Also, to echo the previous poster about the towels, I have a Turkish towel, but I prefer the microfiber towels. I have lots of different brands, and they are all great, they dry super fast, are super lightweight and take up barely any space and sand doesn't stick to them. We actually use them at home now for showers instead of regular towels. Here are some of the ones we have. Discovering these were lifechanging for us going to the beach/pool (not having to lug around regular towels that take up so much space, are heavy when wet, and take forever to dry) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07D37K43F/ref=p...earch_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07N1J69RS/ref=p...earch_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B083N415C4/ref=p...earch_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B083KB9HQF/ref=p...earch_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B083HZX9X7/ref=p...earch_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07PD2J5QW/ref=p...earch_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07FKCRB7H/ref=p...earch_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 A lot of them are unavailable on Amazon now and the available ones are more expensive then when we bought them (maybe a supply chain issue), but maybe then can be found somewhere else other than Amazon? I still think they are worth the price if you go to the beach, pool, or camping a lot. We also switched over to them for the house because they take up so little space in the bathroom compared to regular towels. |
The Company Store makes good quality towels.
Yes. Old bath towel sheets. |
I hate the feel of microfiber on my body
Just bought LLBean pool towels as a gift. They are recommended by Wirecutter.
I am in search of a favorite too, OP... my version of a favorite would be a lightweight/thin but at least somewhat absorbent (not microfiber) towel that isn't unnecessarily huge. We have the nice thick ones but they are so heavy and bulky to lug to the beach along with everyone else.
For the price, I like the ones from Kohls. Sonoma brand maybe? Not sure but they are fairly cheap and hold up well.
We use Turkish towels now. The microfiber ones catchlint in the wash and it doesn’t come out
