…it doesn’t matter where you go, as long as you have the grades, test scores and internships/experience. A degree from a more prestigious school doesn’t buy you anything. A biology major from Mary Washington has the same chance as a biology major from William & Mary, all else being equal.

How do you know this? Did someone on the admissions committee tell you? I don't think your 3.0 GPA from Duke or Northwestern is going to get you into med school. |

I was going from one public school undergrad to another public med school that was out of state. The head of the review panel told me about the grade bump. I had gotten through an interview with someone on the interviewing panel who wanted me in.
