Picnic Spots in NW DC

Besides the obvious (the Mall) and Rock Creek (near Woodley Park), can you recommend any nice picnic spots in NW DC?

The enclosed garden at the National Cathedral - near the flower garden.

Excellent suggestion. Also, the area just outside Lincoln's Cottage would be nice. (Is that Soldiers' Home?)

when it's warmer, the arboretum on ny ave, or the kenilworth aquatic gardens...

Fletchers Boat House off of Canal Road. I was there a few years ago and I seem to recall it having picnic tables and grills.
